Senior Instructor Alain Younes started practising martial arts at the age of 7 through Tae Kwon Do. Soon after migrating to Australia in 2001, Senior Instructor Alain started learning Wing Chun Kung Fu at the International Wing Chun Academy. He has trained under the guidance of Grandmaster Jim Fung and the Chief Instructors of the International Wing Chun Academy and dedicates up to 8 hours per day, 6 days a week to his training. Senior Instructor Alain's experience in other martial arts includes Muay Thai and Yang Mian Kung Fu.
In 2005 to 2006, Senior Instructor Alain attained Level 1 ranking in Grandmaster Jim Fung's Wing Chun Kung Fu® while undertaking the Instructor course at the International Wing Chun Academy in Sydney. He later attained Level 2 ranking and Senior Instructor status.
In 2009, Senior Instructor Alain returned to Lebanon with the desire of establishing his own Wing Chun school teaching and promoting Grandmaster Jim Fung's unique training programme. While in Lebanon, he was pleasantly surprised to find a lot of interest in Grandmaster Jim Fung's Wing Chun Kung Fu®.
In 2011, Senior Instructor Alain returned to the International Wing Chun Academy in Sydney, Australia to continue his training under the Chief Instructors and officially sign on to the Academy's new Affiliated Schools Programme. Senior Instructor Alain's school, Wing Chun Kuen Martial Art School, is now the first and only authorised school in Lebanon to teach Grandmaster Jim Fung's Wing Chun Kung Fu®.
Senior Instructor Alain says: 'I'm very excited to be the first to take the art of Wing Chun Kung Fu to Lebanon and maybe the Middle East and equally proud to be the only one authorized in Lebanon to teach the unique system of Grandmaster Jim Fung's Wing Chun Kung Fu®.
'I found Wing Chun to be an art that helps develop a person physically and internally. It's a brilliant system for unarmed self defence that doesn't rely on brute strength or force, and where the more I learned and understood, the more I fell in love with it. It is the most practical, and most effective approach to many real life threatening situations. The concepts are simple yet spectacularly powerful, involving forward flowing energy and ability to stick, bending in the face of excessive force and becoming a nightmare for your attacker. The training gives one a lot of confidence and the ability to adapt to and eventually overcome any given situation.'
