Grandmaster Fung’s original school had a number of address and name changes before settling into its present location as the International Wing Chun Academy in 1973. It was from this modest two-level converted factory building, up the road from the famous Adelaide Central Market, that the Academy’s success story took off. Twenty years on, Grandmaster Fung would be running one of the largest professional martial arts schools in the southern hemisphere.
The South Australian and Adelaide City HQ retains many of Grandmaster Fung’s loyal instructors from the early days, among them the most senior of the Academy’s Chief Instructors, Albert Chong, who enrolled in 1972. The spacious premises, which include offices, a lecture room and gymnasium, have also kept the traditional kung fu decorations of that time, including an iconic hand-painted mural depicting the stork and rodent of Wing Chun legend.
General classes are held seven days a week, with specialist women’s classes twice a week and the Academy’s very popular Little Dragons classes twice a week after school and on Saturday.
Adelaide Headquarters is convenient for those living in and around North Adelaide, Thebarton, Mile End, Kurralta Park, Goodwood, Parkside and Norwood.
Training Packages
To train at the Academy, please choose a Training Package and Membership and Insurance Package from the tables below.
The Academy recommends that students train in at least 2 to 3 classes (approximately 3 hours) per week. Beginners are encouraged to commit to at least 3 months of training, which should allow the student to reach intermediate Grade 2 standard in Grandmaster Jim Fung's Wing Chun Kung Fu®.
Students on an Unlimited Training Package may train in over 20 classes at Adelaide HQ 7 days a week, as well as an unlimited number of classes at one nominated SA Suburban Branch!
No lock-in contracts! Purchase your Training Package in 1, 3, 6 or 12 month blocks and renew, upgrade or downgrade your Training Package once your current Training Package ends.
Students may upgrade to a different, higher value Training Package of greater or equal length at any time.
Children may train on any of the above Concession rates.
Please note that different training rates apply to SA Suburban Branches.
^Missed Once a Week classes cannot be carried over into the next week.
Family Discount: 10% off Training Packages for 3 or more immediate family members when enrolling or renewing at the same time. Not valid in conjunction with any other promotional offer or discount.

The 1 month short-term Membership and Insurance package is only available to Pay-per-class and Private Lesson students and cannot be frozen or put on hold.
