Promotion of CI Tony Stewart

25/09/2013

We are proud to announce that Chief Instructor Tony Stewart has been promoted to Level 5 of Grandmaster Jim Fung's Wing Chun Kung Fu® following an intensive week of training and assessment under Sigung Chu Shong Tin in Hong Kong.

Chief Instructor Tony trained continuously under Grandmaster Jim Fung from 1987 to 2007 and, following the passing of Grandmaster Fung in 2007, has visited Hong Kong at least once a year to seek the guidance of Grandmaster Fung's master, Sigung Chu Shong Tin. Chief Instructor Tony was previously assessed to the standard of Level 4 by Grandmaster Fung in early 2006.

During Chief Instructor Tony's most recent visit to Hong Kong in September 2013, Sigung Chu commended Chief Instructor Tony's Wing Chun abilities, stating that 'he is very hardworking and his Wooden Dummy application skills and techniques are very complete'. Following Sigung Chu's assessment of Chief Instructor Tony, the Academy has decided to acknowledge Chief Instructor Tony's progress by promoting him to Level 5 of Grandmaster Jim Fung's Wing Chun Kung Fu®.

We would like to extend our warm congratulations to Chief Instructor Tony on this great achievement.

Chief Instructor Tony teaches students and instructors at the Academy's Sydney HQ and regularly visits the Academy's NSW Suburban Branches. Click here to learn more about Chief Instructor Tony Stewart.
