Penrith Wing Chun School

The International Wing Chun Academy has taught martial arts in Penrith since 1997. Our self-defence classes in Penrith are held in the air-conditioned University of the Third Age building on Castlereagh St.

Our Penrith school offers Wing Chun Kung Fu classes for adults, and also welcomes mature teenagers aged 13 and over.

Penrith Wing Chun is supported by Instructor Jacob, Sihing Mark and Ross, and Sije Evelyn.

Penrith Wing Chun is convenient for those living in and around Cambridge Gardens, Cambridge Park, Kingswood, South Penrith, St Marys and Glenmore Park.

We offer classes in Penrith on Monday and Thursday nights.

Classes run all year round, including the school holidays. We are closed on public holidays and for three weeks over Christmas and New Year.

A Beginner Group in Every Class

Start your Wing Chun Kung Fu training this week.

You'll train alongside other beginners while our instructors guide you through the foundations of Grandmaster Jim Fung's Wing Chun Kung Fu®.

You don't need to be strong or fit to start. We'll teach you from the ground up, building your skills and fitness through our structured curriculum.

Practical Skills from Day One

Discover a simple yet effective approach to self-defence.

Your lesson starts with a warm-up, followed by pad work and controlled partner exercises. You'll practise defending against common attacks while learning how Wing Chun uses relaxation and body structure rather than brute strength.

The lesson finishes with our Wing Chun Workout™, which develops fitness, speed and power. We provide protective equipment and emphasise safety throughout.

A Complete Self Defence System

Learn powerful skills that work under pressure.

Beyond the beginner group, you'll put your Wing Chun to the test against increasingly unpredictable attacks, building the confidence and ability to defend yourself in dangerous situations.

At the higher levels, our training covers controlled sparring, multiple attackers, weapon defence and ground defence, all taught by expert instructors.

Our Penrith school is less than a 10-minute walk from Penrith station, with bus stops just around the corner on High St and Lawson St. Plenty of free parking is available in the surrounding streets.

Self-defence classes are held in the beige University of the Third Age building, behind the 'Penrith School of Arts' sign, at 7 Castlereagh St. Walk through the front entrance, and you'll find us training inside.
