On Saturday the 10th of July at 1pm, the Academy's Sydney HQ (1st Floor, 355 Sussex St, Sydney) will be holding an Information Day for all those interested in enrolling in the Academy's Certificate II in Sport (Coaching) and new Sihing (Trainee Instructor) Courses which begin on Monday the 12th of July.

 

Certificate II in Sport (Coaching)

SRS20306 Certificate II in Sport (Coaching) is the first step towards a rewarding career in the area of Sport Coaching specialising in Martial Arts Instruction (Wing Chun Kung Fu). It has been designed to cater for individuals with little to no experience in the martial arts or sport coaching industries.

Course graduates possess all the necessary skills to pursue a career in the sport industry and will have achieved an Intermediate Grade 3 standard in Grandmaster Jim Fung's Wing Chun Kung Fu™, enabling them to instruct / coach up to Grade 2 standard.

Sihing (Trainee Instructor) Course

The new Sihing Course is targeted at existing Academy students in Grade 2 and above. The new Sihing Course equips students with 8 nationally accredited units of competency from the Academy's 20 unit Certificate II in Sport (Coaching) course:

SRCSDF001B - Instruct the basic skills of unarmed self-defence
SRCSDF002B - Instruct the application of the basic skills of unarmed self-defence against an opponent
SRSMAR002A - Collect fundamental information on the philosophy and structure of the martial arts industry
SRSMAR003A - Collect information on the philosophy and foundations of the martial arts industry
SRSMAR004A - Teach or develop the basic skills of martial arts
SRSCGP001A - Operate in accord with accepted coaching practices, styles and legal and ethical responsibilities
SRXGCSO02A - Deal with Client Feedback
SRSOGP002A - Apply rules and regulations to conduct games and competitions

These modules involve highly educational and exciting classroom lectures and hands-on workshops which will be held three nights a week over two 10 week terms.

Saturday 1 Day First Aid Workshop (One-Off) -

As the modules studied in the new Sihing Course are from the Academy's Certificate II in Sport (Coaching) course, Sihing Course graduates interested in upgrading to a full Certificate II in Sport (Coaching) qualification at a later date can receive credit for modules completed under the course and complete the remaining 12 units of the Certificate II in Sport (Coaching) course to attain the full qualification.
